What is the difference between content marketing and copywriting? Content educates, engages and entertains, while copy sparks action.
I've studied conversion copywriting, which aims to convert a reader to take a specific action (buy, subscribe, sign up, etc.) using information about the audience, creativity and persuasion techniques.
Copywriting can be useful on websites (especially home pages and sales pages) in email newsletters, blog posts, etc. I have also helped a long-term client on award and grant applications.
Usually, I draft copy for clients while helping them with a specific project or campaign, mixing educational messages with copy to help them build momentum for a specific initiative.
